Are you one of those people who struggles to fall asleep?
We’ve got a few helpful tips in this post so you can fall asleep faster.
9 Tips To Fall Asleep Faster
Meditate for ten minutes right before you go to bed. You can use an app like HeadSpace or find a guided meditation on YouTube.
Just five to ten minutes will calm your mind just before you go to sleep.
2. Digital Sunset
Commit to staying away from your phone, laptop, tv or any other electronic device at least an hour before bed. It’s easier said than done, but if you’re currently having trouble falling asleep, this could be why.
The screens on these devices keep your body from producing melatonin, a hormone you need when you want to get a good night’s sleep.
If meditating before you fall asleep isn’t working, reading is a good alternative.
Sometimes, just ten or fifteen minutes of reading can help you drift off to sleep.
4. Plan The Next Day
A great habit to get into is writing down a to do list or plan for the next day.
Getting those thoughts and things you have to do out of your head will help your mind switch off when it’s time to go to sleep.
This is another way to empty your head and work out anything that bothered you throughout the day.
6. Sleep in A Cool Environment
If your bedroom is too warm, this might be preventing you from falling asleep.
7. Regular Bedtime
If you’re staying up late one night and trying to go to bed earlier the next, it’s going to be hard to fall asleep.
8. Sleep In A Dark Room
Try and use blackout curtains to keep out any street lights or early morning sun. The darker the room, the better.
Exercising during the day will make it easier for you to fall asleep at night.
Working out early in the day seems to work better for most people than hitting the gym late at night, but see what works for you.
